Have installed kindle update and now cannot get beyond cover pages of any publication. The listings are all clear in all categories, but when I try to go into the pages I get a black screen !,?

This is usually an issue with the Firmware, so I would first like you to do this please.
Remove the charger from the Kindle and hold the power button to off for 35 seconds.
Release, then connect the charger and try to turn on the Kindle and use it.

This is not a kindle device but a 8inch tablet with a kindle app on it which is hosting all my books and newspapers.

Can you go to Settings, Applications Manage
Press on the Kindle app and press Clear Data.
Then restart the Tablet, open the Kindle app, register again when it asks and tell me please if it now functions correct.

Problems now intensify ,did as you suggested and cleared data re registered with Amazon .It did not recognize my password *****
I changed my password ***** successfully yet when I go back to register it doesn't ask for the new passwor . But just directs me to my emails on how to change my password. !!!
ok, looks like the App is corrupted.
Go to Settings, Applications Manager and press on the App and press uninstall.
Restart the Tablet
Install the app again from the App store and it should then allow you to register it.

It was the App that had an issue, and needed a reinstall. We did this just then. It will now be ok.
