I have a Canon iRC3580 printer/scanner and a Dell M6300 laptop running Windows 10
linked by LAN through a Bright Box Router.
I can print successfully.
When I try to set up "scan to file" on the One Touch button it does not accept my user name and password ***** but deletes them and leaves the boxes blank for the name and password ***** be re-entered.
I have tried every combination of name and password ***** might be relevant, to no avail.
Any ideas ?

Sorry for delay, I detailed process at length then web page became unavailable. let's try again.

On the Canon printer,

Additional features button,

Address book

one Touch button

Select *002

browse for server, and computer name

then "name and password" fields appear,

After submitting these they are blanked out ready for re-entry.

Network cable through a BrightBox (supplied by Orange for my Broadband).
