Unfortunately I let the battery run out on my Kindle whilst reading a book on it.
I have plugged in the charger and the orange light shows that I have a connection but this was 2 days ago and the screen still shows that it needs charging-a picture of battery on it. Nothing more. Is this normal. I have tried to turned the device off but nothing helps.
Please can you help as I am keen to use it.

This is usually an issue with the Firmware, so I would first like you to do this please.
Remove the charger from the Kindle and hold the power button to off for 35 seconds.
Release, then connect the charger and try to turn on the Kindle.
Let me know the results please
Thank you

Brilliant. That has worked and the reader is now charging up.
