Dominic,I got your file. Can you please tell me what cell range is exactly you want to extract the unique dates from?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Hi Jess,Rows 57 - 174 is the cell range. We are trying to replicate the chart in the link below but replace the bars with blocks corresponding to the unique dates. The blocks may of course merge to appear like a bar but others with fewer dates won't and will appear like a staright line scatter. We do not want the slider above the bars/scatter, just simply the actual date range spread horizontally against each category. The document is to be printed to an A3 sheet in landscape. We have a note to say that for £18 we can increase the service to speak to you. Is this possible?

Dominic,Are you referring to the dates in cell K58 to K174?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Hi JessJust running back to my computer but it is all of the columns within those rows. Each column/category will correspond to each seperate line scatter/bar in the chart as shown in the web link.

I am very sorry. I can help you in extracting unique dates in the columns but I am confused on what exactly you want to accomplish. Please allow me to opt out so that other experts can assist you further.Best regards,Jess

Hi Jess,We are desperate to meet a deadline and need an early ansswer. I wonder if I can better explain as follows:In rows C58 to AD174 we have a number of categories at the top of each column with with dates below (please ignore the additional columns to the right of each with seperate number 1 - 14: this was our elementary attempt to trick Excel into making the chart we want but it didn't work)We are looking to construct a chart like the example show below where each category appears at the start of each row (the y axis) with dates along the x-axis. The dates under each catagory in the data set will be plotted in the chart against each category. Since the y-axis (rows) are based on categories, the chart will appear as a number of straight horizonatal bar/scatter points. Please note that unlike the example in the link, we are trying to plot each seperate date as either a point or a block. Since some of the dates are close together this may appear as a connected line/bar chart at some points. hope this helps and look forward to your earliest response. Many thanksDominic

Note: In our rush to get the question on the Just Answer notice board we believe we may have overcomplicated our question (and the preliminary excel spreadsheet) for what we believe is a simple formula for a technician proficient in Excel. For an early answer we are willing to pay double the normal payment with a tip on receipt of a satisfactory answer ASAP.We look forward to hearing from you.Dominic

Hello there,
I've been working hard to find a Professional to assist you with your question, but sometimes finding the right Professional can take a little longer than expected.
I wonder whether you're ok with continuing to wait for an answer. If you are, please let me know and I will continue my search. If not, feel free to let me know and I will cancel this question for you.
Please note, I am just a moderator for this category, I can only try and find experts to help, I can't answer the question itself.
Thank you!
