I am trying to upload pictures from my Kindle Fire to my pc. The Kindle says the picture folder is empty, though the pictures are there. I am being invited to upload some software to enable me to see the pictures on the pc. Can you help please.

Hi there and welcome Toby

The procedure to do this is as follows

Open the Kindle Fire folder (titled "Kindle") on your computer, and then open the Internal storage folder. Drag and drop your photos into the Photos folder or personal videos into the Movies folder on the computer.

Then double click them from there

What happens when you do this?

The internal storage folder is open and I have various files viz pictures, documents, download, imagecache. All these folders are reputedly empty. Where do I go from here ?
Thanks Richard I think we have spent enough money, so we will call it a day. Thanks

If pictures is empty Toby, then there is nothing there.

Where exactly are you seeing pictures on the Kindle?

Also, there is no additional money needed
