Customer: It is my phone not a computer and it's an iPhone 5S
JA: What kind of Apple device do you have? What Operating System (OS) are you running?
Customer: ?? why do you mean
JA: The Mac Technician will be able to walk you through that. How long has this been going on with your Apple device? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I have deleted the account and readied it, with my new password, incoming server accepts the new password ***** the outgoing server doesn't so my emails have not updated since yesterday
JA: Anything else you want the Email Expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: I don't think so, it has happened before but once I've added the new password ***** emails updated

Not sure, what order should I do it in

delete the account. make sure it leaves the accounts and passwords section. then restart your phone then add it back. hotmail auto configures. So if it doesn't take then something is stuck in the mail folder. The last step if this doesn't work is to erase the phone as mail has corrupted.

Erase all content and settings. Start over. Manually migrate data.
