JA: What exactly is frozen or not starting up for you?
Customer: Will it work if I buy a high power usb charger
JA: What's the brand and model of your computer? And the Operating System (OS)?
Customer: xps 13 about 4 years old windows 10
JA: How long has this been going on with your computer? What have you tried so far?
Customer: it's been dodgy for a couple of months but I usually find a sweet spot and the charging light stays on but now it won't. It says plugged in for better battery but not charging, I can no longer get the cahging light to stay on
JA: Anything else you want the Computer Expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: No

It seems a common problem from looking online but I notice that there are now high power packs which use the USB port. I want to know if this will work for my XPS 13 model as it is probably 5 years old

When you say "power packs" are you talking about the power bank?

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
I guess so!

USB 3.0 would work.

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
Sorry is that what I search for on Google

There are two options.

Either you can go for power port replacement as you have mentioned that it is 5yrs old system will under Out Of warranty you need to talk to Dell and check how much does it cost for the power port replacement.

However you can also go for power back for laptop but the power required more wattage to support your laptop charging.

I would recomend you to check with Dell go for the power port replacement.

I'm just concerned that it will support my model - how do I find the model number?

Below is the one which is compatible for XPS13.

Dell Notebook Power Bank Plus (18,000 mAh) - PW7015L
