Customer Question

I have two computers which I want to link together with a LAN. As a first step, if I insert a router between the modem and the computer currently linked to the internet, will it just continue to work or will it need to be configured in some way?
JA: Who makes your router?
Customer: I haven't bought it yet but Mikrotik heX S.
JA: What have you tried so far?
Customer: Nothing. I rely on the internet for everything at the moment and I am afraid of messing things up.
JA: Anything else you want the Network Expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: No
