Hello. We have a new Amazon Echo but I am having trouble connecting it to the Internet. Help! Maggie
JA: What computer or device are you having trouble syncing?
Customer: I have tried from my laptop, my tablet and my phone and nothing seems to work. I am on my laptop at the moment,
JA: What's the model of your device? How old is it?
Customer: My laptop? It is a Dell Inspiron and is about 4 years old.
JA: What have you tried so far with your Android device?
Customer: I have tried with my Amazon Kindle Fire and my phone which is a Samsung Galaxy S7.
JA: Anything else you want the Android Expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: I don't think so.

I cannot connect it to the Internet. When I go to my settings it says that Amazon XXX is not available.

Ok, on your phone go to settings, wireless and connect to the wireless network of the echo

It will have the word Echo or Alexa in it, it differs for the rest but will have the word echo in it

The only things I have listed on my phone are out BT Hme Hub; BTWiFi and BTWiFi qirh FON

ok, in the app

  1. Open the Amazon Alexa app from the app drawer or home screen.
  2. Sign in to your Amazon account.
  3. Once you're logged in, select the horizontal bars on the top left corner of the screen to pull up the menu.

  4. Tap Add Device.
  5. Select Amazon Echo from the list.
  6. Choose the Echo device you're setting up.

  7. Select the generation of the Echo device.
  8. Toggle Bluetooth to allow your phone to find the Echo device.
  9. Select the device from the list.

  10. Choose the Wi-Fi network that will be used by the Echo device.
  11. Select Continue once your Echo device is connected to the Wi-Fi network to customize

ok, but that was when you left for a few hours, else every question was replied by me no longer than 4 minutes...
