I cannot access the Kindle store or download my books on my new kindle. I get a message which reads "The Kindle store is currently unavailable. Try again later. If the problem persists, please contact Kindle Customer Service. etc.
JA: Just to clarify, what device or product are you trying to access?
Customer: A Kindle paperwhite
JA: What Amazon product do you have?

JA: What have you tried so far with your Kindle?
Customer: I have trued to download my books but I cannot do so. Its because my device seems unable to make contact with the Kindle store.

This could be caused by a glitch in the firmware and can be resolved by a forced reboot, then your kindle will work normally again. Try pressing and hold the power switch for a full 40 seconds, even after the screen goes black, then release.Then press the power button to restart if the device does not start up again on its own. Then connect to your wifi and sign in with your Amazon account please.
