Customer Question

I have small red bumps all around my mouth and nose. The bumps came up suddenly. I'm not sure why. I was using a retinol cream at night and C-Esta during the day. The bumps may have been a reaction. I stopped using these products when I saw the bumps, but they keep getting worse not better. What should I do and what is causing this?

Hello and welcome. I'm Dr Chip

Could you post a photo on this page please?

I used some hydro cortisone and the bumps have gone away around my mouth but there are still some near my eye. What's causing them and is hydrocortisone safe to use on your face? It's low strength, over the counter hydrocortisone. Thanks

Sorry--just got your photos.

These are milia--small cysts.

They're from blocked sebaceous gland ducts

If the retinol cream isn't helping you need prescription tretinoin cream or these can be removed with a chemical peel by a dermatologist
