I have several hard raised, shiny bumps on the top (dorsum)

Customer Question

Hi. I have several hard raised, shiny bumps on the top (dorsum) of my fingers, and one to two on the underside. They are not painful, but quite unsightly. They first appeared over a year ago and have neither spread nor reduced in that time, although they do seem to become more and less prominent over time. Thanks
Assistant: How long have you had the pain? What seems to make the pain better or worse?
Customer: Sorry, not painful.
Assistant: Anything else in your medical history you think the doctor should know?
Customer: Nothing particular.

These are corn or callocities of epidermis layer. Harmless if left alone, for cosmetic reasons you may try some occlusive band-aid containing salicylic acid to dissolve these, changing them every day. Gradually the hardened skin will soften and become normal.
