In the past few months I have developed a rash that appears

This answer was rated:

In the past few months I have developed a rash that appears on my inner arms and thighs and sometimes on my torso. It seems to be getting worse, is at its worst in morning time and then seems to recede although you can still see the rash outline without the redness. I was diagnosed with sebhorreic dermatitis many years ago but this is controlled by shampoo, it never affected the rest of my body. Is there any idea what might be causing this rash?? It seems to be worse on my right arm.

Hello. I'm Dr Chip
Could you please post some pictures of that for me on this page?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
It has flared down now

Can you describe it for me?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Small red spots on my inner thighs and inner arms, worse in mornings and then recedes. Tingly rather than itchy. Sometimes appears on torso also but recedes. Outline still visible to eye but redness disappears.

And there's nothing for me to see right now on a picture?

That’s my inner arm with rash not flared

That’s inside of my elbow

Got them--hold on please

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Those small spots are flared up and red at times during any day

Have you tried treating that with anything?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Just coconut oil, no use at all. I suppose I’m concerned that it might be something serious, I don’t have a GP. Is the fact it comes and goes mean it’s not serious??
Customer: replied 5 months ago.
That I think is a close up view of a burst one on back of my right hand.

It's nothing at all serious--not an indication of some systemic disease

It's an allergic dermatitis--sometimes from new soaps, detergents, etc, but many times the trigger can't be determined

I'd suggest you start taking a daily 24 hour Claritin and apply over the counter Caladryl lotion twice a day for two weeks

That should clear this up

Please let me know if you need any more information

Thank You Doctor, I will do that.

My pleasure
