Hello, my 6 year old daughter has been suffering with what the doctors have stated as a fungal in her scalp. They have given her antibiotics which have not helped it.
JA: Have you seen a doctor about this yet? What medications are you taking?
Customer: I’m not sure what it is called as I have run out, but should be going to collect some more soon but it’s a fungal antibiotic
JA: Is there anything else the Doctor should know before I connect you? Rest assured that they'll be able to help you.
Customer: No , no allergies or anything

What she needs is Griseofulvin, Miconazole cream and the ketoconazole shampoo

But treatment can take 3 to 6 months

Griseofulvin are not antibiotics but antifungal tablets that are dissolved in water

Perfect Thankyou, so you would say this is a fungal too?

Well, sometimes it can be a mixture of both fungal and bacteria

What she needs is skin scrapings to confirm

usually best to do so before starting oral medication
