Hi there,I am an experienced Medical Specialist.I am here to address your concerns and provide great service. Thanks for the pics.
This is likely an autoimmune condition given the fact it is spreading and tea tree oil helps.
Immune system is overactive and attacking your scalp and skin.
You need to use topical steroid ointment --prescription Clobetasol propionate ointment 0.05% twice daily for 3-4 weeks will be better.
But needs prescription from your doctor.
Over the counter Hydrocortisone 1% ointment can be tried meanwhile 3 times daily for 10 days.
Please use Petrolatum jelly twice daily to prevent dryness.
That means you will need a skin biopsy for confirmation.
And oral steroid course will be required.
Ok --but that should be the next step.
This can be lupus for example or sarcoidosis or something else --hard to treat without a biopsy.
You can give a trial of antifungal treatment over the counter.
Clotrimazole cream can be tried twice daily for 2 weeks.
Ok then no other option for you unfortunately.
You can see a dermatologist privately.
