Hi, I have big scabs on my scalp and I was wondering what they were - they come and go
JA: When did the scabbing first appear? Have you used any medication for this?
Customer: No medication. I've had them on and off for years but they've come back recently, maybe about a week ago
JA: The Dermatologist will be able to answer that. Have you seen a dermatologist about the scabbing?
Customer: No
JA: Thank you so much for your time. Finally, is there anything else in your medical history you think the Dermatologist should know?
Customer: No :)

You are likely to be having psoriasis of the scalp.

For psoriasis you must take medical treatment from your doctor. You should preferably consult a dermatologist for this.

Some steps that youcan take at home till you get to the doctor are:

Petroleum jelly: apply petroleum jelly on the lesions

Apple cider vinegar: also apply this at night

Sunlight: sun exposure helps in this.

Omega 3 fatty acids: give her omega 3 fatty acid supplements.

Hope I have been able to clarify the situation for you and helped in resolving your query.
