Customer Question

My 14 year old son has a mole on his leg which has become sore and has a hard lump underneath
JA: How long have you had the lump? Is it hard or soft?
Customer: as it’s my son, he isn’t sure how long the hard lump has been there. It’s hard and has been sore for a few days, maybe up to a week
JA: Is there anything else the Doctor should know before I connect you? Rest assured that they'll be able to help you.
Customer: it’s oozing a little , like a pimple on the side of the mole

Apologies for any intrusion of those automatic offers for phone calls. These are produced by the website automatically and outside of my control.

No injury, it was a mole

Thanks for the further information.

I am writing the answer for you and will get back to you in 3-5 minutes.

Unless you wish to speak in person, you can ignore the request for a phone call automatically generated by the website, not by me.

Thank you.

While mole is there, it is unlikely to cause a swelling underneath.

There has to be other reason (apart from mole).

He would need an ultrasound to ascertain the cause.

Meanwhile application of svalin and Ibuprofen would help him.

I hope his symptoms resolve soon.

I would be happy to assist you further if you need more information.

do you think it could be a symptom of a cancer growing underneath
Customer: replied 6 days ago.
As I read if a mole is oozing that may not be a good sign
Thanks
Expert:  Dr. Arun Phophalia replied 6 days ago.

It is difficult to conclude a cancer just by this information in a 14 year old. It is a rare phenomenon.

Only investigations can diagnose and cancers are usually painless.

Ok thanks
