It says I need to replace the magenta cartridge. How do I print in black and white without replacing the magenta cartridge?

Can you tell me which version of windows you are running please?

Thank you
Customer reply replied 4 years ago.

Windows 7 ultimate

Thank you

Click Start, Devices and Printers.

Right click on your printer and select Printer Preferences.

Look for Grayscale and check this which will then force the printer to only print in Black and White, so not to use the color cartridges at all.

Let me know the results please

Did that but the display on the printer still says "check magenta toner cartridge" and it didn't print

Then your printer is using the color mix to make Black, it does not have dedicated Black ink.

Sorry, but it will not be possible, as it is using Magneta to make black, and you cannot stop this (as it has no way else to make black).
