Hi. Welcome to justanswer. Please specify which device do you have.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Canon mg 5750
This error code suggests that there are a couple of possibilities such as a something preventing the feed tray from opening either by blocking the printer, an unseen friction, and a possible paper jam inside the printer.Check for these.
Have you recently changed any ink?

Please can I continue with an online conversation?

Yes and I have changed one ink cartridge recently - magenta
Turn off the printer.Disconnect the power cable.Open the printer cover.Check for any orange protective tape or white polystyrene
PS: From that cartridge only.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I have done that but can't see anything you describe. but with the printer turned off how do you get to the cartridges?
Check first for any stray paper or paper jam.If you don't see anything then follow the procedure for changing the inks (Page 173 of the manual) Remove the magenta ink that you replaced. Check if the orange protective cap is removed. If you need steps, then reply and I will provide you the same.

I have looked into every slot I can find with no sign of any sheets or bits of paper. I hav replced the power cable and now the screen is showing "Support code 1300 paper jammed - Paper output slot - Transport unit on the rear side"
There is nothing in the paper output slot. How do I get to the transport unit on the rear side?
If it is something on the contacts of the magenta cartridge, I can't get to that either as the cartridge carriage will not move. Copy paste this url and run the file which will get downloaded. We will start an online session.

No need. Problem solved. While trying to see into the back of the printer I pulled the paper tray out. When I replaced it and pressed the 'return' button the printer spat out a sheet of paper that had been impossible to see. Sheer fluke! I still do not see how I was supposed to see into the rear side of the printer. Or how to check a cartridge when the cartridge carriage won't move.
I was just about to guide you for the same. Here is the MANUAL. CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD. And go to page 927 you will get the procedure.
