Customer Question

Canon IXUS132. It has now a dark shadow covering half of the screen, and a grey one on the botton as a result, I'm only able to see a little square of the image I mean to snap. I haven't yet tested to see if despite of that is still catching the full image when I click. Pretty frustrating as it has been an excellent camera. I thought it could be dump, tried leaving in a warm place, but had no results... the shadow went from grey to black now.

Hi Vera. Welcome to justanswer.

Please transfer the images to a computer and check if the images are also having the black shadow or not.

If yes, then the problem is with the CCD sensor. It needs cleaning. The spots are caused by the dust which has got trapped inside the camera and onto the CCD sensor. You will need to get it cleaned.

If not, then the problem is the viewfinder screen.

How old is your camera?
