Hi my team have been using my canon for video capture- I can't get it to take any pictures!
JA: What's the brand and model of your product?
Customer: eos 1300D
JA: How old is your EOS?
Customer: 2 years
JA: What have you tried so far with your EOS?
Customer: recharging the battery
JA: Anything else you want the Camera Expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: the auto focus is working there seems to be power - I can see the display in the view finder. No display on the menu screen

Can you remove the battery please then hold the shutter button down for 60 seconds then release.
Wait 5 minutes, put the battery back in and turn it on.
Tell me please if it now operates correctly

now when I look in viewfinder it says 'busy' when I touch the shutter button - rebooting I guess

You will need to get one please to rule out a faulty card, or test the card in another camera or device please.

Ok thank you - it did just turn on - showing the menu screens- I was able to scroll etc. I put the card in and its all gone off again

Please do the following to reset it.

  • First, set your camera to the M for Manual setting
  • Press the ‘MENU’ button
  • Scroll right by using the Multi-controller to navigate to the “Camera Settings 3 tab”
  • Highlight “Clear Settings” and then press SET button
  • Select “Clear All Camera Settings” and then press SET button
  • Confirm the question by select OK and press SET button
  • After the procedure above, select “Clear All Custom Func.” to clear all the custom function settings

Once done, tell me how it now functions please.
