My male dog is a 6 month Portugese Pointer. He has been playing at mating with my Labrador but because he is so young I wasn't worried. My 3 yr old labrador is at the end of her period cycle and I have come home to find them locked together. How high a risk is it that she might actually fall pregnant with his immature sperm.

Dr. Drew :

unfortunately, there is a real risk of pregnancy.

Dr. Drew :

it is entirely possible that his sperm are fully capable of fertilization at this point.

Dr. Drew :

The fact that they were able to tie together, suggests that hormonally, Scamp is at sexual maturity

Dr. Drew :

and so I suspect that there's at least a 50% chance that pregnancy could occur.
