I'm sorry that your question wasn't answered in a timely manner. The most worrisome bit of history is Poppy's aimless wandering which indicates a change in mentation (mental status) indicative of encephalopathy (brain disorder) involving her cerebrum or thalamus (forebrain). Intracranial (within the skull) encephalopathies such as brain tumor and extracranial (outside the skull) encephalopathies such as a poorly functioning liver intoxicating her brain (hepatoencephalopathy) are considered. Poppy's vet will need to perform a thorough physical neurologic exam including diagnostics in the form of blood and urine tests in an attempt to identify an extracranial etiology for Poppy's behavior which might be addressed in a conservative manner. If nothing untoward is found in such testing, MRI would be necessary to look into her brain but I would find that advanced imaging circumspect at her age. Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
