Customer Question

It was suggested that I buy green tripe for my dog but bought white instead. Is it still ok to feed it to my dog and do i have to cook it or give it raw?

Hello, Thanks for your question. I am a veterinarian and will do my best to help. Green tripe is recommended for some digestive issues. White tripe is safe to give him, but may not have the same benefits. Some believe that it should be fed raw for maximum benefits, or only "gently" cooked. However, feeding any raw foods can run a risk of infections like E. coli or salmonella. I personally do not give my dog raw food. Let me know what other questions I can help with.
