My 2 year old Cockerpoo is being sick every time she eats

Customer Question

My 2 year old Cockerpoo is being sick every time she eats anything. This has been going on since 4 am. We have just been out and she seemed happy enough but she is asleep now. I have an appointment at the vet this afternoon at 14.50 but should I take her as an emergency as she doesn't seem well to me?

Hi my name is*****! I'm sorry to hear Daphne is having a problem! I'd like to try and help you with her!

Expert:  Dr. Christie replied 7 months ago.

Was there anything unusual in her vomit? Have you given Daphne any new foods or treats? Could she have gotten into anything she shouldn't have eaten, such as garbage, cat food, chewed up toys, etc?

Expert:  Dr. Christie replied 7 months ago.

Vomiting multiple times can be related to gastroenteritis, pancreatitis, internal parasites, metabolic disease, infection, and even foreign body infection.

If Daphne seems painful, is continuing to vomit, has pale gums, I would definitely get her into the emergency veterinarian this morning. However, if she seems comfortable, has had no further vomiting, her gum color is nice and pink, I think she will be ok until her vet appointment this afternoon.

I would recommend with holding all food and treats from her at this time. You can offer her small amounts of water or occasional ice cube (do not let her gorge herself on water) - however, should she vomit after drinking, please with hold water as well.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery for Daphne!! Please let me know if you have any further questions!

Thanks Christie - I've been to the vets this afternoon and she thinks she's probably just got a bug. She seems well in every other respect. We just have to keep an eye on her and follow essentially the advice that you have given above. Thank you for your advice.
Many thanks Vanessa xxx
