5 days ago my dog chewed and swallowed part of a plastic

Customer Question

5 days ago my dog chewed and swallowed part of a plastic toy. 2 days after doing so, he brought it all back up. Since then, each morning he has vomited a little (nothing more than a little stomach acid rather than actual food). He is eating and pooping as normal though... Should I get him checked out?

You're speaking to Dr. Michael Salkin. Welcome to JustAnswer. I'm currently typing up my reply. Please be patient. This may take a few minutes.

I'm sorry that your question wasn't answered in a timely manner. I would X-ray + barium swallow or ultrasound such a dog's upper gastrointestinal tract looking for toy that hadn't been vomited up. He's not obstructed as he continues to eat and poop but either irritation remains from the toy or toy itself remains in him. Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.

Given the delay in getting advice, ewe sought an emergency appointment with our local vet.I paid for an urgent response but don't feel that was honoured - is it possible to get a refund please?
