Hi there, you are through to Dr Linda, a UK based vet.
I'm sorry to hear this.
What age and breed is Mika?
Any other symptoms such as lethargy, diarrhoea, panting or a bloated tummy?
Any change in diet or new treat?

Please ignore any phone call requests as the website sends these automatically.

She is a juskry/shepherd mix
Almost 11 years. Not interested in much.. But have noticed she hasn't eaten much of her meals since Sunday. Drinking water.

Thank you for this.
Are her gums pink and wet?
I don't suppose you have a photo of the vomit (sorry, I know this is a bit odd!)? Or could perhaps describe it more e.g. there was coffee granule substances or it was like tar ?
Customer: replied 6 days ago.
No loose stools. Guns pink and wet. Tummy doesn't look distended.
Customer: replied 6 days ago.
Little food but not much. No blood in stools.

Ok thats very reassuring.
The worry with brown vomit is that there could be a bleed in the foodpipe, stomach or intestine.
This would usually be accompanied by abdominal pain and pale gums, though not always.
Brown vomit can also occur if the food eaten was brown or the dog has been eating brown things such as mud or another dog's poo.
Has she been spayed?
Any toxin exposure e.g. rat bait, anti freeze or lawn feed in the garden?
Customer: replied 6 days ago.
No brown food or eating poo yuk
Nothing from gatfrm

Garden.

she had been spayed.
Expert:  Dr L Simmon replied 6 days ago.
Ok, thank you for this information.
And has she been generally well; no recent weight loss, change in thirst levels or lethargy?
Customer: replied 6 days ago.
Generally well but seems not too interested in much eg her toys. Responds to people outside or visitors.
Expert:  Dr L Simmon replied 6 days ago.
Ok, sure.
So a few vomits aren't necessarily a concern, but we need to be cautious because of her age, the lethargy and because it had been going on for a week.
Typically, if it is just an infection or upset stomach it should resolve within a few days.
We would offer just boiled white chicken and rice with no dog food or treats for 2 days.
We would also give a probiotic paste such as Protexin prokolin which can be purchased online or from a pet shop.
If not wormed in the last 3 months, this should be done with Panacur, or a similarly broad acting product.
However, if she is really not well it would be best to have her checked. Hopefully she would just need some medicine e.g. an anti sickness injection or ant acids, but it is sensible to rule out anything more serious.
