We trimmed our pugs nails - not too short, but now several are bleeding profusely.
JA: I'll do all I can to help. What type of animal are we talking about?
Customer: Pug black. He didn't cry or appear distressed but they are still dripping
JA: When did the bleeding start?
Customer: Just after cutting
JA: And what's the Pug's name and age?
Customer: Mojo, about 12
JA: Is there anything else the Vet should know?
Customer: Not really He seemed happy

Hi there, you are through to Dr Linda.

Please don't worry!

I know this can look dramatic but Mojo will be fine and this cannot cause enough blood loss t be an issue.

Get an egg cup with corn starch or flour of some sort in it and dip each nail tip into it.

Try to keep Mojo still and his heart rate down as this will slow any bleeding and allow the tips to clot over. A chew or treat may help!

You can also apply pressure with cotton wool if any nail is taking a while to clot over.
