Based on the very limited information you have provided so far, my best recommendation is to book the little one a hands-on consult at your local vet. Dry coughing can be quite worrying; it can be anything from Kennel Cough to more severe viral infections, tonsilitis, or even anatomical issues such as megaesophagus or collapsing trachea. The next step is a full health evaluation and chest/trachea auscultation + throat exam. If nothing found, they'd probably offer you further investigations such as Bronchoscopy or X-rays. So please get Bobby seen in the following 24-48h (or earlier if respiratory distress/struggle occur).
