He had an operation on his eye to try and save it by pulling the eyelid over and stitching it. He has since removed the stitch and I haven’t take him back on Yuesday but it looked like a ball of blood
JA: I'll do all I can to help. Have you seen a vet yet about the eyelid injury?
Customer: Yes he did the procedure as I just stated above
JA: Did he bleed at all from the injury?
Customer: No it wasn’t an injury he had ulcers in both eyes
JA: And what's the dog's name and age?
Customer: Dylan and he is 8
JA: Is there anything else the Vet should know about Dylan?
Customer: He s on Gabapentin for the pain
Hello, you are through to Dr Linda, a UK based vet.I'm sorry to hear Dylan has been through so much recently and can imagine this has been very stressful. What originally happened to his eye?Could you please send a clear photo of it?
Customer: replied 10 days ago.
I just sent you a photo. Did you receive it

Have you received the photo

He had an ulcer in it and they pulled his eyelid over and stitched it to try and save the eye

Is there anyone there
Thank you, ***** ***** has just downloaded now.
While the photo is not very clear, it appears as though there is a melting ulcer that has completely ruptured. If this is the case, this is a true emergency and requires urgent veterinary action as he is likely in a lot of pain. What medicine is he currently on?
Customer: replied 10 days ago.
Ok, thank you. While this will be providing some pain relief, Dylan needs something stronger and also needs antibiotics.Unfortunately the procedure appears to have failed and he does likely need his eye removed. While this sounds extreme, it is better than him being in pain and having a constant source of infection.

He has antibiotic eye drops
Customer: replied 10 days ago.
Shod I take him to an emergency vet or wait until mine is open tomorrow
He needs to see an emergency vet right away I'm afraid.

I'm with one now. Many thanks
That's excellent. This window stays open so you can keep me updated and ask any further questions you may have.Hopefully we can get Dylan more comfortable very soon, bless him.

Hi there, how is Dylan doing this evening?

Customer: replied 10 days ago.
He has been given Morphine. The eye had ruptured and the vet couldn't save it so I'm to take him to my vets tomorrow so they can remove it. Poor baby

Oh, poor little man.

I'm so sorry that this has been the outcome and appreciate this must be very upsetting for you.

However, once the eye has ruptured, it is the best thing for him.

Dogs adapt incredibly well to losing an eye and he will feel much better as soon as the source of pain is removed.

Thank you for your help. I'm so glad I messaged you today.

No problem at all and it's great you could have him seen so soon.
