Customer: Basset Dashound sorry
JA: When did the Basset's leg start hurting?
Customer: Around 15 min ago
JA: When did the Basset last see a vet? Are they taking any medications?
Customer: Last week, no meds
JA: And what's the Basset's name and age?
Customer: 3 months, Luna
JA: Is there anything else the Vet should know about Months?
Customer: My daughter is 5, she is used to cats and she went to play with the puppy, but she threw her from her height on the floor thinking she'd land like a cat, so she hurt her front leg

Hello, you are through to Dr Linda, a UK based vet.I'm sorry to hear this and appreciate your concern for Luna.Is she putting any weight on ler leg?Is she hiding away or crying?
Customer: replied 12 days ago.
Hi Dr Linda, thank you so much. Luna was not able to put weight on her injured leg after the incident, she cried a little bit but calmed down and fell asleep

Can she now put weight on her leg?
Customer: replied 12 days ago.
She's still sleeping. How long should we wait?
Customer: replied 12 days ago.
Could it be broken?
Expert:  Dr L Simmon replied 12 days ago.
it could be broken as pups are very fragile at this age. We'd also consider a muscle strain, bruising or dislocation. If she can't bear any weight, I'd book her in for a check this afternoon. Many vets are open until Saturday but close early so wouldn't wait.A check is also advised as she's had a fall so may be on shock or have other injuries.
Customer: replied 12 days ago.
Okay, I'll take her to the vet asap. Would you recommend any?

Where are you located?
Customer: replied 12 days ago.
Would she be able to sleep even if it was broken? She stopped crying 5 min after
Customer: replied 12 days ago.
I'm in Dublin
Expert:  Dr L Simmon replied 12 days ago.
If she's in shock, she might be lethargic. If you wake her and she is putting weight on her leg, this is very reassuring and she may just have twisted the leg on falling. If she still can't bear weight, she should be seen.Where in Dublin are you?
Customer: replied 12 days ago.
I'm in Tallaght. Thank you, I'll see if she can move her leg. Thanks
