What food are you currently feeding Kai?

Expert:  Susan MRCVS replied 8 days ago.

With the information provided I would recommend Kai see a vet to make sure nothing more serious is going on and get   the right treatment.

However if you think Kai is eating reasonably well and seems well enough in himself with just moments of being more tired that normal you may be ok to treat at home for a little longer.

You can ask your local vet practice if you can buy some special food designed to help clear up diarrhoea. Usual brands include Hills i/d, Royal Canin gastrointestinal, Purina EN gastrointestinal. Home cooked chicken and rice is no longer recommended for more than 24 hours due it lacking vital nutriments for the diseased intestines to repair themselves with.

They may also be able to sell you over the counter some special paste that helps clear up diarrhoea eg Pro-kolin or Canikur.

If Kai goes off his food, has vomiting, has blood in the faces, seems tired and unwell or the diarrhoea doesn't improve in a few days please call your vet straight away.
