hi Dr linda my dog has this under his ear also has a cut on top of the ear at the same place could this be a tick? or a dog nipped him with my dog walker.. his fine with him self his a tiny tiny cough which does once every 5 hours or so eating tiolet playing fine

Hi there and thank you for your question.

This is not a tick. Ticks are recognisable as they are smooth and symmetrical and we can see a head and black skinny legs.

This looks like a small scab.

I would bathe with salt water daily and keep an eye on it; it should fall off by itself in a few days.

Absolutely, this looks like a little nip or scratch.That spray wouldn't do any harm but may not be needed. Salt water should suffice for a small leison like this and it should heal swiftly.
