JA: Is his skin bumpy or itchy as well?
Customer: Bumpy but hes not scratching it

Bumpy skin with missing fur could be a range of things in an older, large breed dog including:

  • A 'hot spot' or bacterial infection
  • A fungal infection such as ringworm
  • Mites
  • A tooth root abscess
  • Etc.

A vet check is sensible so we can examine Juke, his face and his mouth.

He may well need some medicine such as antibiotics and a medicated wash.

If he is rubbing his face, protect the skin with a buster collar as needed.
