Welcome, I am Cory.

It sounds like there maybe a glitch in the firmware.

Please remove the case if you have it in one and unplug it from a charging source, if connected. Press in and hold the power button/on switch for 40 seconds, this will reset the firmware. Please wait up to 3 minutes for it to restart. If it does not come on, please try to turn it on normally after 3 minutes.

Please continue to hold it, even if the green light comes on and goes off.

If your Kindle still has issues, please reply and we will troubleshoot further.

still not working

Is the screen back or what is wrong with it?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

the screen is black and powerdoesnt seem to be there.

As with all electronics, sometimes there is a troubleshooting process and the first step might not always work.

I am sorry that did not work, let's try a force reset.

Please keep it on charge for 15 minutes. Once 15 minutes passes, please keep it on the charger and hold the power button for 30 seconds.

Once you reset it, please keep it charging for 15 minutes and let me know if starts working correctly?

If it is still not working, let me know how long you have had it?

Let me know if you have any questions.

I am sorry to say this, but your Kindle is out of warranty.

Because of the drop, it probably caused a hardware failure.

Do not worry, if you get a replacement Kindle, you will be able to download all of your books from the cloud.

If you want to read your books on your computer in the mean time, please download the program here. -

I apologize for this outcome.

If you have any questions, please reply and I will assist you.
