Problem 1: I need a suitable remote control for my Pioneer

This answer was rated:

Problem 1: I need a suitable remote control for my Pioneer stack system, to include settings for different radio stations
Problem 2: There is an aerial for medium wave on the system, but I'm not able to tune into any station. I seem to remember that medium wave reception was powered by a separate battery, could this be right?
1 sound image controller GR-J400
2 double cassette deck CT-J300WR
3 twin tray CD player PD-J500T
4 tuner control amplifier CX-J400
5 stereo power amplifier M-J300

Hello, I'm TV Tech1 and I'll be working with you to identify and help you resolve your problem.

>1 This unit is 20 years old, thus the only place you may find a working remote would be Ebay at a reasonable price.

AXD1237 is the remote control's part number-,158887&bsid=4414&mid=1378384

That's quite expensive at those sites.

2 You don't need a battery for Medium Wave or Am Radio stations....but you do need AM transmitters. There's the problem. Seems they rarely license AM in Ireland.

They did make some models that could receive Longwave reception too, but you would see that listed on your tuner.

While the remote control may have some value, its real function would be with the FM band, not the AM or Medium Wave band.
