I have a sony flat tv and for last few months is showing vertical spectral lines when we turn it on and it takes from 5 mins to 2 hours for proper picture to appear. The picture delay is getting longer, can anything be done?

Hi Patrick,

Thanks for the info. It seems t-con board problem in this TV that provides video data from main board to display panel internal circuitry, since TV is small so I don't think it is worth to spend money on its repair and you probably get a new TV of same size in that amount.
Mostly this size of TV display panel has built in t-con board and entire screen will be replaced if you still want to get it repaired that would cost approx new TV price.
I'm sorry there is no easy or quick fix for this problem and it is definitely hardware failure that needs defective board/ display panel replacement to resolve the issue.
I trust my input will help you out to make decision about this TV repair or a new replacement TV. Please feel free to respond if you have any additional questions.
