Hello, my name is Shahid, I'll be happy to assist you.
Please allow me to ask you a few questions to diagnose the problem.

- Can you please get me the model number written on back of TV?
- How old it is and how long it have had this problem?

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

We think it is six years old. It just started. Model number is LE40R87BD

OK, just to be clear, when TV power cord plugs in wall socket, TV starts On and Off on its own and keep doing this until unplugs power cord, is this correct?

Thanks Lee for the info.

This kind of problem usually occurs due to failing capacitors on power supply board and either replacement of bad capacitors or entire power supply board would resolve the issue. Capacitors go bad after long time service and it is normal behavior of this electronic part, replacement of capacitors would help to resolve the problem.

If you good with soldering work and has tools then replace all capacitors on power supply board except the bigger one OR get the part number off of power supply board to search/ google for replacement board to get it replaced in TV.
Now if you are uncomfortable working on this TV then local TV repair shop will do this work for you that may cost 100 plus Pounds.

I'm sorry there is no easy or quick fix for this problem and it is definitely hardware failure that needs defective board replacement to resolve the issue.
I trust my input will help you out. Please feel free to respond if you have any additional questions.
A positive rating to answer would be greatly appreciated!
