I have a Panasonic DVD Recorder DMR-EX98VEB

I have a Panasonic DVD Recorder DMR-EX09VEB and it has developed the following faults : HDD ERR DRV NG 5T FAIL Should I try to re-set the unit?

Hi there,

These faults indicate that the recorder can no longer communicate with the hard drive.
You can try resetting the unit, and reformat the hard drive.
If that does not work, then the hard drive will need to be replaced.
This is a common fault on older recording systems, as the hard drive commonly fails after a few years of use. It can be replaced by a local computer or electronics repair shop, for around £100.

Thanks. Tried re-starting it but I can't get into the system to do this.

I have now contacted a tv engineer who is going to pick it up on Monday.
