Customer Question

I have a new Kodak Pixpro camera. When I turn it on, lens comes out, viewer comes on for about 3 seconds, then goes blank. It will not take a picture or function. It can be turned off again.
I feel I need to reboot it, or reinstall the firmware. Any thoughts?

Hi there,

Check if you can still see the menu when the viewer goes blank.
If you can't, then the backlight in the display is likely to have a fault, and the display will need to be replaced.
Getting a replacement display and fitting it yourself will be difficult, so a refund for the camera would be advisable in this case.

I cant see the viewer, however, it wont take a photo either. The only thing that works is the on/ off switch. When we first turned it on, the viewer worked and the camera asked us to set up date, time etc. Instead of completing that, my wife turned it off. Then, after fully charging the batttery, this problem started. Do you think it still would be a viewer problem?

Thanks for your help.

Hi perry,
No, if it won't take a photo either, then the problem is more serious.
Unfortunately there is nothing else you can try yourself if you have already fully charged the battery.
The camera will need to be reapired, which will be difficult since Kodak are no longer trading.
A refund for the camera would definitely be advisable in this case.
