Hello, I'm TV Tech1 and I'll be working with you to identify and help you resolve your problem.

Sounds like an older TV where the SD signal was processed/converted on its own board from the digital HD signals.

The Brand name and model number would be helpful to analyze your problem.

Also, is your HDMI inputs and your Component / 5 wire inputs also showing this green picture? How about any Scart connections you are using?

Are they all working, but the tuner in the TV set is where you get the green picture from??

Samsung UE40B6000

That's not as old as I was thinking...but the technology is still the same.

You'll need to verify the BN number on the barcode stick found on the board with your antenna and HDMI connections. This is a picture of that board --

You see that barcode on your board? Look for the number starting with BN....and ending with the FIRST LETTER. It always starts with BN and ends with a letter, not a number.

That's what we need to get the correct board

OK, I'm away from my home for a few days and I'm not happy about removing the back of the TV. However, I will upon my return on Monday. I'm increasingly concerned that it looks like a hard disc error and you seem to be diagnosing it as a signal processing error. If it were signal processing the sound would have corrupted as well and this has not happened. As I write all the mains power switching has been turned off in the house. I will reboot upon my return. If it is a hard drive issue then it maybe cured by this temporarily and give us the chance to ensure it does not happen again.

Hard drive? Are these recordings you're seeing this on, but HD Live shows are OK???

There was a firmware update on this model. Here is a list of all the different Models/Versions of firmware if you haven't updated it yet ---

Update that FIRST...then if the picture is still green, remove the back cover. We'll do the easy stuff first, but it's not a pain to remove the back's a pain to remove it off the wall, and it's an 80 incher ! Now that's TRUE pain.
