samsung plasma tv ps-50p96fd Won't turn on. Power light just flashes

Thank you for using Just Answer my name is ***** ***** I will help with your question.

I am afraid to say it could be a number of things that could cause that fault, Does the tv click at all?

Would you look at repairing the set yourself?

JACUSTOMER-gdgh9ew0- : Hi Carl thanks for coming back
JACUSTOMER-gdgh9ew0- : no the to doesn't click
JACUSTOMER-gdgh9ew0- : Sorry this keeps cutting out! No to doesn't click and we wouldn't repair it ourselves

It is likely that it could be the power supply some samsungs suffer from bad capacitors your model does have a problem with capacitors but that may not be the problem.

I am able to suggest a tv repairer in your area if you send me your postcode?

I am afraid that it is not likely to come back to life without repair. Have you had any trouble before like slow startup or random turning off?

JACUSTOMER-gdgh9ew0- : Thanks carl
JACUSTOMER-gdgh9ew0- : it has been whistling a bit at times
JACUSTOMER-gdgh9ew0- : not turned itself off
JACUSTOMER-gdgh9ew0- : our postcode is RH 14 0sh
JACUSTOMER-gdgh9ew0- : do you know if Samsung cover a capacitor problem even if outside warranty ?

I dont think samsung do cover it, It would be good if they did as it was poor capacitors that cause the problems but many capacitors fail a few years outside warranty.

I use a trade forum and many members advertise on the forum this member is closest to you.

Many engineers will charge an inspection charge for looking at plasma tv as they can be time consuming
