I have bought LG39lb580v smart tvit is connected to sky+

I have bought LG39lb580v smart tv it is connected to sky+ box but how do I connect it to dvd player as it only has the one (scart ?)

This is only a one-off problem

not requiring a "contract"

Hello, my name is***** be happy to assist you.
Please allow me to ask you a few questions to diagnose the problem.
- Does your Sky+ box has HDMI Out port?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Cannot get to the back of the sky box at the moment

and unable to find any user manual papers

but the specifications of the LG-39LB580V SMART LED TV show:-

HDMI x 3 (ARC compatible x 1)

SVGA x 1

Component input x 1

Composite input x 1

USB 2.0 x 3

A single HDMI cable will enable you to send HD video, audio and data at high speedthrough to your LG Smart TV

I regret it is all a foreign language to me

I just need the cheapest connection (cable ?)

and cannot understand why this wasn't revealed when the TV was installed

HDMI connection would be just fine if your Sky+ box has HDMI port and in case Sky+ box doesn't have such output then ask your service provider to replace the box that has HDMI output. Since TV has only one SCART input that can be used to connect DVD player and Sky+ box should be plug into HDMI input of TV through HDMI cable which isn't costly cord.
Though mostly new DVD players have HDMI output yet you can keep your old DVD player connected to TV through SCART cable.
Please reply back with the result and if problem resolved then a positive rating to answer would be highly appreciated.

Thanks for your help but I do not need to involve Sky.

I have discovered that I can purchase a Bush SCART Connecting kit at Argos.

The Scart from the VDU connects to a "connecting box" and then a HDMI lead connects to the TV with yellow, white & red plugs.

Now all I have to do is buy the kit, hope it works, and then try to get rid of my headache.

Thanks again

OK, yellow-white-red pins will plug in composite video input of TV, your TV is HD and can display high resolution picture of Sky+ box if you connect it through HDMI cable.
Thank you.
