As the first step, can you remove the power to the TV and wait 10 minutes
Then plug the power back in, turn on the TV and tell me if it now functions correctly.
Let me know the results please

I have done that several times without effect

Thanks Andre
What is it getting the signal from? eg: Skybox?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

No just from digital aerial.I have 3 other Samsung TVs working from the same Aerial through a booster set with 5 outputs. I have changed the faulty one onto one of the others but no change.

I can not do any more at the moment as | am at work but can try again this evening if you have other likely answers

Thank you

ok, then it is not the device that is the cause but the actual TV and will be the chipset on the mainboard.
Changing the mainboard will exceed the value of this TV unless it is under warranty Andre.
Is it still under warranty?
Let me know please

Thank you

I thought it may be that. I will go through the procedures you have suggested again and will let you know

Thanks Ivan,
If it does not resolve it, then you know its the mainboard and in my experience, unless it is under warranty, it will be more cost effective to sell the TV for its screen on for example E-Bay (there is a market for these) and purchase a replacement TV.
Else of course if it is under warranty, to have it replaced under this.
