The sound on my Panasonic Viera TX-32LZD85 TV keeps fading

This answer was rated:

Hi, The sound on my Panasonic Viera TX-32LZD85 TV keeps fading and stays silent/very low sound output for inconsistent amounts of time...sometimes sound returns and fades and returns etc. Please can you suggest a solution. Thank you.
Hello, my name is***** be happy to assist you.
Please allow me to ask you a few questions to diagnose the problem.
- What video devices/ sources (such as cable box DVD player etc) are connected to TV and does the problem occur on all video input sources?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

The TV is connected to a Sky+ HD satellite box. I also have another TV in my office connected to the same 'system' but this TV does not 'lose' sound.

Thanks for the info.- Have you tried to unplug TV and Sky box power cords from wall outlet for 10 minutes to reset, replug back in and check? If not yet, can you try it now and reply back with the result?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Yes I tried that worked for a while then the problem returned.

OK, can you please connect another video device/ source such as DVD player as a test to see if sound output stays stable or not?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

I don't have a DVD as the sky box allows recording. As I wrote earlier the other TV situated in my office 'holds' the sound correctly. This TV is connected to the satellite via the TV/Sky box in my other room where the sound is fading.

Is the other TV in office connected to same Sky box?

OK, what type of connection cable/ cord runs between Sky box and this TV?- Is it coax cable plugs in RF/Antenna input of TV?- Is it AV cable (3 cords of yellow-red-white RCA pins)- Is it set of 5 cords (component video)?- Is it HDMI cable plugged into HDMI input of TV?These info will help me to understand connection setup between TV and Sky box to troubleshoot the sound issue.

The TV and Sky Box are linked by a single black cylindrical cable (SCART) from 'Scart' on Sky Box to 'AV1' on the TV. The RF/Antenna link between the TV and Sky Box is a white cylindrical aerial cable...I assume that is a coax cable.

Thanks Chris for the info, it seems sound processor chip isn't working properly and causing the sound problem, it is located on main board and entire board will need to be replaced in TV. It would be plug and play work, no soldering is required. Please check the part number written on main board of TV and if it is TNPA4465 TNPH0723 then replacement board is available at following link.. trust my input will help you out. Please feel free to respond if you have any additional questions.A positive rating to answer would be greatly appreciated, please click on smiley face/star on this page then click submit/finish button so I can get credit on website for my work.
