Nexus 7 tablet: will not start. The tablet is in excellent

This answer was rated:

Nexus 7 tablet: will not start. The tablet is in excellent condition, never used by kids, one elderly lady owner who plays candy crush. Regularly recharged, just stopped one day.
Checked online for answers:
I have held power and volume buttons for 1 minute - nothing.
I have disconnected the battery and reconnected - nothing.
I have tried several different chargers including the Asus original - nothing.
When plugged into the computer windows 7 does not recognise the device.

This is usually an issue with the Firmware, so I would first like you to do this please.
Remove the charger from the Tablet and hold the power button to off for 60 seconds.
Release, then connect the charger to the Nexus.
Wait 10 minutes then try to turn it on
Let me know the results please
Thank you

I have held the power button down for 65 seconds and there is no response.
ok, it was not clear if you did this exact procedure, but hold the Volume UP and POWER buttons for 10 seconds then release.
Does it then come on?

I followed your instructions exactly.
There is still no response when holding volume and power buttons for 10 seconds
It is the internal mainboard that has faulted.
A corrupted firmware can cause this. But we have ruled this out by trying to reinstall it. The fact that we cannot get to the recovery window, confirms it is the mainboard that has shorted out, and causes the device to stall.
I am really sorry about this and you are going to have to return the tablet to have it replaced. It will be covered by the warranty if this has not expired, and the replacement will be done at no cost to you.
I am really sorry about this, and if you have problems, or would like any additional information or assistance, please do not hesitate to let me know.
And if you can take a second to rate my service, that would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
