I bought a Goodmans GFSDTR320HD Freesat box on 1st Dec and certain presses make unexpected and useless effects. Can you help?
Hi there and welcomeDid you buy the unit secondhand or it is new? And can you see if you have the original remote? Please let me know.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Hi Richard.
The unit, both box and remote were new and matched to a new Goodmans 32" TV.
The seller claims that they cannot help, saying there is an unavoidable infra red
overlap and that a different brand of box would not help. Can you?.
Can you give me the exact model of the TV please
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Sorry Richard, I have just looked up the purchase of the Goodmans box and it is described as 'Seller refurbished' with a 12month guarantee.
The TV is a Goodmans 32" C32227F LED TV and built-in DVD Player.. It has builtin facility for Freeview but the signal here is too low for normal reception, hence I am on satellite reception with this Freesat box.
ok, so to make sure I fully understand, when you use the Freesat remote it is making changes to the TV correct?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Thanks, ***** ***** going to be a mistake they have made with the remote signal and they have crossed over on some of the commands.
As this is all hard wired, you cannot change this, as you cannot change how the codes are sent (I checked and its part of the circuit).
Do you actually need to control the TV via the remote? As you will be using the freesat box correct?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Thanks Richard,
At nearly 84 years old I use the remote all the time rather than leave my 'throne chair'
and cross the room.
I must train my memory to avoid using the problem controls!.
Is it worth my time to search for a compatible remote from a different manufacturer?
No sorry as it will give you the same problem, as its going to use the same IR code, this is a really annoying problem and the only way to solve it would be to change the TV, or the Freesat.
Or just avoid the problem remote which would be best for you
If you would like any additional information or assistance, please do not hesitate to let me know.
