We have a one year old Epson XP425 but cannot get it to print. We have put in the correct Epson ink cartridges but it keeps displaying the message 'Cannot recognize ink cartridges.'
Why is it doing this? Help! The sheer frustration of this is causing us to lose our tempers at the stupid machine,
Maureen Brook.
Thank you for your question, my name is ***** ***** I look forward to assisting you. Please note, a rating is only needed when we are finished. Can you please remove the power to the printer (so unplug it from the power socket). Then wait 10 minutes, connect the power again to the printer, turn it on and tell me please if it is now operating correctly.Let me know the results please

No, it still keeps indicating that it doesn't recognise the cartridges
ok, if you remove the cartridges, does it detect them being removed?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It tells me to replace ink cartridges, so presumably it recognises that they have been removed
Ok, can you try a different ink cartridge please and tell me if it recognizes this ok?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I only have the Epson cartridges for this machine - it's a domestic printer XP425 and it doesn't appear to recognise any of the recommended cartridges.
ok, if all of them are not being recognized then it will be the print head (the unit that the cartridges go into) it would be very rare for all cartridges to of failed.I am really sorry about this and you are going to have to return the printer to have this replaced. It will be covered by the warranty if this has not expired, and the replacement will be done at no cost to you. I am really sorry about this, and if you have problems, or would like any additional information or assistance, please do not hesitate to let me know.
