Can you please remove the power to the unit (so unplug it from the power socket).
Then wait 10 minutes, connect the power again to the recorder , turn it on and tell me please if it is now operating correctly.

ok, can you remove the power to the unit, then hold the eject button and with it held, connect the power and power it on (still with eject held)
Does it then open?
It is the internal drive motor that has faulted, it is the only cause left
