Customer Question

I have a 36 inch philips tv about 10 yars old. Never had any problem with it before. Last night the screen went black no picture no sound. I could smell a burning smell for a short while. I switched off the tv. When I tried to start it again nothing happened the tv was dead! I tried to contact a couple of tv repairs shops today, they say the tv is too old and they could not get the parts. Also they did not even have a look at the tv. Could you help please?

Hi, welcome to Just answer .... as the TV is dead the problem is likely with Power board that is bad and most likely will need replacement..the parts might be available however, the repair might cost around £150-£200. Looking at the age of this unit it is better to get a new one then to spend £200 on repairs. If you still want the parts then please get back with its complete model number.
If you have further questions I will be pleased to assist you .. Please remember to RATE my answer Excellent or Good Service when you are satisfied....Thanks

Dear ***** *****
Your answer is not very helpful, as I wrote I contacted two repairs services locally and they both told me the same as what you say. It may cost me £200 for repairs and they cannot get the parts and it is better to get another tv. I am sorry to say that your answer has not help at all. Therefore I would ask that the £33 that I have sent should be refunded to me at once..Iam not a satisfied customer.

OK, if you want to repair this yourself then please leave the unit unplugged then remove the back panel and closely check the power will see blown parts, you can send the image and then replace the parts. Your DIY skills should be excellent to perform this repair. If you still want a refund please contact customer support

How do I contact Customer Support to ask for my refund? What is the email address of customer support? i cannot find it anywhere. I am 77 years old, I am no good at DIY and I don`t think I can repair my own Tv. I thought that you people could repair it for me and as it will cost £200 or more, I have decided to buy another TV. Thank for your help anyway and cherio.
